# Portfolio Rebalancer

Maintain your ideal risk profile automatically with the Realio Rebalancer.

## What is Rebalancing?

Over time, your asset allocation may drift as some stocks outperform others. Rebalancing is the process of selling overweight assets and buying underweight ones to return to your target weights.

## Setting Your Strategy

1. **Set Target Allocation**: Define the % weight for each stock in your portfolio (e.g., 40% NVDA, 60% AAPL).
2. **Choose Trigger**:
   * **Threshold**: Rebalance whenever an asset drifts more than X% from target.
   * **Periodic**: Rebalance every week, month, or quarter.
3. **Review & Execute**: The system calculates the necessary swaps and presents a batch transaction for your approval.

## Benefits

* **Risk Management**: Prevents your portfolio from becoming too concentrated in one asset.
* **Buy Low, Sell High**: Disciplined rebalancing naturally forces selling high and buying low.
* **Automation**: Save time and gas by grouping trades into optimized flows.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.realio.finance/features/portfolio-rebalancer.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
